Instructions for Patch034 - CHARTS May 2008 Update

This is a complete new release of CHARTS containing new features and options. It also increases the capacity of the Table File and the Resident Master File to accommodate new fields.

Make a backup of your CHARTS data. On the paper label of your backup write Data Backup followed by today's date. Store the back-up and do not re-use it.
Log all users off CHARTS.
Print this page.
Click to load patch034.exe

PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR THE FIRST TIME YOU RUN CHARTS FOR EACH FACILITY.

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer (ver. 4.0):

A dialog box appears:	You have chosen to download a file from this location.
	Patch034.exe from www.reliablehealth.com
	What would you like to do?
Your response:	Click on Save this program to disk and click OK.
A dialog box appears:	At Save In click on the down arrow, select Desktop, and click on Save.
A dialog box appears:	A dialog box may appear stating: Download Complete.
Your response:	Click on Ok.

If you are using Netscape Communicator (ver. 4.7):

A dialog box appears:

At Save in click on the down arrow, select Desktop, and click on Save.

When the download is complete log off from the internet.
On your desktop double click on patch034.exe.
You will be asked to confirm that you made a back-up of your CHARTS data and that all users are logged off the system. If yes, click Next otherwise click Cancel.
You will be shown a letter corresponding to the disk drive address where CHARTS resides. If it is correct click Finish or change the drive letter and click Finish. (If you do not know the disk drive address of CHARTS do the following: Right click on your CHARTS icon on the Windows desktop, then left click the Properties menu selection. Then left click the PROGRAM tab. The "Cmd line" indicates where the CHARTS software resides; it will begin with a single letter followed by a colon.)
You will see a message The CHARTS upgrade has been successfully completed. Click OK to confirm.

For each facility, the first time you log on to CHARTS you will see the following:

OK to Proceed: YES (Yes/No)

Important:

This program increases the capacity of the RHS Table File and Patient Master
File. This data expansion is as part of our May '08 CHARTS Release.
Please see the release notes for additional details.

This program can take from several minutes to more than 30 minutes to run.

DEMO NURSING HOME

At "OK to Proceed" type "YES" as shown. Leave the remaining fields as initialized and press ENTER. This step will take from several minutes to more than 30 minutes to run. When the program finishes, the update is complete.
This step must be repeated for each facility. Do not interrupt or exit out of the program once the expand process has begun.
